Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have split up after three years of marriage.
E! Online reports that the Pirates of the Caribbean actor and the former model have been separated for months, quoting one of Bloom's reps as saying, "In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months. After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation."
Bloom and Kerr have a 2-year-old son, Flynn, together, and the couple will remain close for him. "Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family,” continued the rep.
The couple, who met in 2007, married in July 2010. According to Entertainment Wise, there has been much speculation that Bloom and Kerr spent a lot of time alone, living two completely separate lives, but the couple denied all rumors that their marriage was headed for trouble.
Just last month, the couple was seen having a family day walking through a New York park. The last time Bloom and Kerr were seen together was for the opening of Broadway's Romeo and Juliet, in which Bloom stars.
Kerr only had good things to say of her husband following the show. "When I saw Orlando on Broadway in Romeo and Juliet, I was blown away," she said in the November issue of Cosmopolitan. "For someone to be able to learn all that and hold the energy to do it every day, six days a week—I have so much respect for him.”
Although the couple has split, they seem to be on very good terms.
