Twitter is taking a little Google with it, as it has hired Google’s advertising executive to be their head of retail.
J.J. Hirschle, who was the media and entertainment director at Goggle, will be helping Twitter to sell product to retail companies, according to Bloomberg.
This isn’t the first time Twitter has hired someone from Google. Last year, the social networking site hired Shailesh Rao, who led Google’s advertising in Asia.
In August, Twitter hired Google’s former head of media and entertainment sales, Jennifer Prince to head their entertainment ad sales, Mashable reported at the time.
Google hasn't issed any statements on who will replace Hirschle.
Twitter is branching out to become more than just a social networking site. The San Francisco-based company has increased its hiring and is looking to expand its business.
Hirschle will begin working for Twitter on Monday.
It will be interesting to see what Twitter becomes with these former Google executives on board. Twitter made its IPO filing public earlier this month.
