Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen officially onboard for next 'Avengers' movie

By Andrew Wilson,

Long rumored and talked about, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen have officially been cast as brother and sister team Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in the upcoming sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron.

According to Marvel’s website, after much speculation, their roles as the brother and sister duo in Marvel’s upcoming sequel to the smash Marvel’s The Avengers have been announced.

The superhero category is not new to Taylor-Johnson. Taylor-Johnson’s portrayal of John Lennon in Nowhere Boy may have won an Empire Award but his most notable role as the crime fighting vigilante in the Kick-Ass movies is his most popular.

Elizabeth Olsen - sister of marketing giants Mary-Kate and Ashley - broke through with her debut performance in Silent House, and the critically acclaimed Martha Marcy May Marlene, for which she was nominated for numerous awards.

Screenrant reported Olsen, as well as Taylor-Johnson, will star in the upcoming remake Godzilla, which is due out May 2014.

Marvel's The Avengers was released in 2012 and went on to earn $1.5 billion worldwide, making it the third-largest grossing movie of all time. The highly anticipated sequel is due to hit theaters May 1, 2015. If you need your Marvel fix before then, never fear, Marvel has two coming in 2014 with Captain America: The Winter Soldier (April 4) and Guardians of the Galaxy (August 1).
