Melissa McCarthy appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and joked with the late night host about her controversial Elle magazine cover.
The Mike & Molly star said of the oversized coat she wore on the November Women in Hollywood issue that she was going for a “walk of shame” look.
"I kind of wanted to look like the walk of shame,” she said, Us Weekly notes, with Leno responding, "To guys that's just got out of bed look, which is very sexy."
McCarthy added, “That's what I was going for! There was a big to-do about it, which kind of made me laugh. Like, how dare someone put me in a $3,000 coat. That's terrible!"
The funny lady is referring to backlash she received that her curves weren't being celebrating when they put her in the outfit.
In a statement, Elle said "On all of our shoots, our stylists work with the stars to choose pieces they feel good in, and this is no different: Melissa loved this look, and is gorgeous on our cover.”
