Anchorman 2 was just released this week and rumors of a third movie are already in the works. Christina Applegate, who plays Veronica Corningstone-Burgundy, says she would love another sequel.
The first Anchorman aired in 2004 and fans had to wait nine whole years for a sequel.
The star told Access Hollywood that she’s ready for another Anchorman movie. "I don't want to wait nine years [like between the first two films],” she said. “I would do it next year if I could."
Will Ferrell, who plays Ron Burgundy, also hinted there is a possibility of a third movie as long as the sequel does well.
"I'm sure [Paramount] would [want a third film],” the comedian told E! News. Right now, the producers have to see how the sequel does in the box office before making any final decisions on a third movie."
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues stars Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner and Christina Applegate. The movie hit U.S. theaters Decemeber 18.
