Barbara Walters chose Hillary Clinton as her most fascinating person of 2013. During their interview, Walters grilled the former Secretary of State about a possible presidential run in 2016.
Neither Clinton or her husband, Bill Clinton, are in public office this year, and the former First Lady said it’s been nice “just hanging out” for once.
She also told Walters about her decision to run for president or not that it’s “such a difficult decision, and it's one that I'm not going to rush into.”
She also gave a very political answer when she said, “and I don't think we should be looking at the next election. I think we should be looking at the work that we have today. Our unemployment rate is too high. We have people getting kicked off food stamps who are in terrible economic straits. Small business is not getting credit, I could go on and on, so I think we ought to pay attention to what's happening right now,” ABC News reports.
Still, Walters pushed for an answer and Clinton admitted she hasn’t “made up her mind” yet. “I really haven’t. I will look carefully at what I think I can do and make that decision sometime next year,” she said.
TheWrap notes when Walters first started the 10 Most Fascinating People special in 1993, Clinton was chosen as the most fascinating person that year as well. This special was the last before Walters retires next year.
