ABC and Dick Clark Productions have announced the 2014 Billboard Music Awards will be back on ABC and will air on Sunday, May 18. The award show will be broadcasted live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The Billboard Music Awards received their highest ratings in twelve years following last year's show, Billboard reported. The show was also the top social program, with over 4.3 million tweets. That was an 182% increase from the year prior.
In a press release by ABC and Dick Clark Productions it was also shown that the award show won its time slot last year and reached new height in all categories regarding adults and teens.
Last year's award show featured Taylor Swift, Madonna and Prince taking home awards. Prince even took to the stage to perform a medley of his classics. The medley included "Let's Go Crazy," Edgar Winter's instrumental "Frankenstein" and "Fix Ur Life Up."
No word yet on when the nominations or performances for the award show will be announced.
