Bryan Singer, known for directing X-Men and X-Men 2 broke huge movie news on Twitter when he tweeted about the upcoming release of X-Men: Apocalypse in 2016.

Little is known about the upcoming X-Men film but it has been confirmed that Singer will be directing the project, reported Vulture.
Apocalypse will be a direct sequel set up in X-Men: Days of Future Past's closing moments. The new film will focus only on the younger cast, which features James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence.
The Toronto Sun added that Apocalypse should be released in 2016.
Fans received one more hint at what the new film will be about when Singer took to his Twitter account again.

Comic book fans won't have to wait much longer to see X-Men return to the big screen. X-Men: Days of Future Past is set to be released on May 23, 2014.
