Daily Wrap of All Things for Dec. 21: 'Harry Potter,' Kate Upton, Amazon, and Aretha Franklin

By Samantha Ravenscroft,

Here’s our daily wrap for Saturday, December 21:

Potterheads rejoice! The famous Harry Potter books that many of us grew up with will now be taking the stage in Britain. J. K. Rowling will be producing a screenplay based on her books that sold hundreds of millions of copies. Rowling won’t personally be writing the script, but will be working with the production.

Amazon is following behind Target and will not be stocking physical copies of Beyonce’s new CD. The new album is listed on the site, but the retailer won’t be selling it. Only third-party sellers are stocking copies and they’re charging over $20 for a copy. Although physical copies aren’t available, Amazon still is selling the MP3 version.

Kate Upton is finally single again, so men of the world can rejoice. Upton and Dancing with the Stars dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy ended their six-month relationship. The couple started dating in June, but did not publicly announce their relationship until September.

Aretha Franklin announced she is planning a new album and is ready to hit the stage once again. Franklin will be covering ten songs by legendary women. Two of the included artists are Barbra Streisand and Donna Summers.
