Daily Wrap of All Things for Dec. 24: NORAD, Jared Padalecki, Sherlock and Edward Snowden

By Samantha Ravenscroft,

Here’s our daily wrap for Tuesday December 24th:

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!

Children have been able to track Santa all day today. The North American Aerospace Defense Command started the tradition back in 1955 when the number to the department was accidently printed in a Santa Claus tracker hotline. NORAD also takes calls at 1-877-HI-NORAD to get a precise location.

Jared Padalecki and his wife Genevieve Cortese announced the birth of their baby boy. This is the second child for the couple who had son Thomas Colton back in March of 2012. Padalecki announced the birth on Twitter.

The hit BBC show Sherlock premieres in the UK on New Year's Day but in the meantime the network has released a mini-episode. "Many Happy Returns" is a seven-minute episode which never actually shows Sherlock’s face but hints at his return. Sherlock will premiere in the US later in January.

Edward Snowden, the man who leaked NSA documents says that he has already won. Having let the world know about the programs the US government has been using he feels he has done his job and educated the United States. Snowden still lives in Russia, where he was granted asylum.
