Dayna Morales, the waitress who reportedly was left an anti-gay message instead of a tip in November, has left the Gallop Asian Bistro restaurant where she worked.
The original story behind the anti-gay message left on a receipt can be found here.
The Gallop Asian Bistro has now posted this Facebook message to their page:
The family accused of leaving the message sent an email to New Jersey media outlets after the story aired, showing they left an $18 tip for Morales, according to New Jersey 101.5.
Morales also had a PayPal account set up by fellow employees for people to send donations, and the money was to be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project. However, according to The Daily Caller, the project has yet to receive any money from Morales and some people have started to receive refunds of their donations. A San Francisco woman, who donated $5 to Morales, received a refund notification Friday.
This isn’t the first time Morales fabricated a story. According to her friends and co-workers, Morales has a history of making up lies. Morales once claimed she was the sole survivor of a bombing to her Marine unit in Afghanistan. In reality, she never actually saw combat and had been dishonorably discharged for failing to show up for drills.
