Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell have confirmed the rumors that the “Neon Lights” singer won’t be returning to X Factor as a judge next season.
Reports surfaced ahead of the kick-off of the two-part finale of the Fox show, stating that Lovato would be focusing on her music instead of the show in 2014.
That’s exactly the reason she provided for her exit, explaining, "I started the show being a singer and a musician, and so I'm going to go back to that. It's been really great, but I'm so excited for 2014. I'm going to dedicate it completely and entirely to music—touring and making a new album. Possibly releasing one,” E! Online reports.
Cowell isn’t surprised by this, telling reporters "I always knew she wasn't coming back because she's touring, so I knew that.”
No word yet on if Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio will stay for next season of the show. Although the show has earned low ratings, Cowell is confident it will get renewed.
The finale of Season 3 will air tonight at 8 pm, determining who will be crowned the winner - Alex & Sierra, Jeff Gutt or Carlito Olivero.
