NBC has announced that Hannibal is set to return for another 13 episodes starting in February.
The second season will premiere on Friday, Feb. 28 after Grimm at the 10 p.m. slot, since Dracula will have concluded its 10-episode run since then, as will the Winter Olympics.
NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke said, "[Showrunner Bryan Fuller] and his team are running on all creative cylinders once again and have delivered episodes full of intrigue, scares and surprises."
She added, "The show continues to astound us with its incredible aesthetic beauty and its amazingly talented cast."
The series follows FBI criminal profiler Will Graham (played by Hugh Dancy) as he struggles between helping catch serial killers and his own mental imbalances. Hannibal is set up as the prequel for the movies Red Dragon and Silence of the Lambs.
The show mostly switches between its two main characters, Graham and Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen). Deadline notes that Laurence Fishbourne, Caroline Dhavernas and Hettiene Park also star on the critically-acclaimed show.
