By Chelsea Lewis ,

Warner Bros. is rebooting the very famous tale of Peter Pan in Pan. The upcoming feature will be directed by Joe Wright and Hugh Jackman is in talks to play the villain, Blackbeard.

Variety reports the studio initially wanted Javier Bardem for the role, but he passed on the role, so Warner Bros. went on to their next choice: Jackman.

Blackbeard isn't the only role that the Prisoners actor was contemplating with Warner Bros. One possible movie is the Incredible Mr. Limpet remake.

Rumors have circled that Blackbeard would be the main antagonist in the film, but the famous Captain Hook would also be making an appearance in the upcoming reboot, initially as Peter Pan's ally.

Screen Crush added that the upcoming film will look at the origin of Peter Pan and the early days of Neverland and is set to be released on June 26, 2015.

Greg Berlanti will be producing the film and Sarah Schechter will oversee production for Warner Bros.
