Jessica Lange has signed on to join the upcoming The Gambler by Paramount Pictures. Lange had been in talks to join the picture for months but it is now confirmed. Mark Wahlberg will also be in the cast for the upcoming reboot of the original Gambler.
Lange will be playing a rich and over the top mother of Wahlberg's character in the remake. The Gambler was first created as a movie back in 1974, Deadline reported.
Wahlberg will be reprising the role that James Caan made famous in the first movie. Wahlberg will play a college professor whose gambling addiction takes over his life and a new debt leads to some unwanted new friends.
Vulture reported that the movie will be directed by Rupert Wyatt who is known for his work on Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
Lange is known for her work on the ongoing miniseries American Horror Story. Last month it was announced that American Horror Story would be returning for a fourth season and would feature Lange. Lange has been in every season of Horror Story since the beginning.
