'Lizzie Mcguire' actor Daniel Escobar dies at 49

If you watched Lizzie McGuire, than you most likely remember the actor Daniel Escobar, who played Lizzie's teacher, Mr. Escobar, on the show. Unfortunately Escobar died on Friday at the age of 49.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Escobar died due to complications from diabetes at a hospital in Los Angeles.

Escobar starred in a number of well-known television shows such as: Charmed, Dharma & Greg, Weeds, Desperate Housewives many others.

Though he appeared on those shows, he is most known for the role of drama and chorus teacher, Mr. Escobar opposite of Hilary Duff in the Disney Channel series from 2001 to 2002. The show Lizzie McGuire aired from 2001 to 2004.

People reported the actor won a Helen Hayes Award in 2008 for his role in She Stoops to Comedy play by David Greenspan that was produced by the Woolly Mammoth Theater Company.

Escobar earned a bachelor in fine arts at Southern Methodist University and had training with the Shakespeare Theatre at Folger.
