President Barack Obama supported a well-known small business bookstore on Small Business Saturday called Washington’s Politics and Prose bookstore.
The Associated Press reported that his two daughters; Malia, 15, and Sasha, 12, accompanied him to the bookstore as well.
Reuters reported that President Obama bought two dozen books and spoke with shoppers in the bookstore located in Northwest Washington, D.C.
The president’s purchases range from young children's books to fiction, memoirs and sports books. Some of the books her purchased include Kenneth Oppel’s Half Brother, Collision Low Crossers: A Year Inside the Turbulent World of NFL Football by Nicholas Dawidoff and Red Sparrow, a spy novel by Jason Matthews.
He did not say which books were for him and which ones were gifts, noting, "I've got books for every age group, from 5 to 52."
The president tweeted about supporting small businesses on Small Business Saturday.
Today is #SmallBizSat—remember to shop at your local small business to support all they do for the community.
