The FX hit Sons of Anarchy reached a season high with its dramatic season finale. The biker drama, created by Kurt Sutter, brought in over 5.2 million viewers.
Deadline reported that this set a record for the show's season finales. It was also the third-most-watched episode in the show's history.
The No. 1 most-watched episode for the hit biker drama was September’s Season six premiere. That episode featured a very controversial school shooting at the conclusion.
This season of Sons of Anarchy was one of the most successful seasons for the show, drawing an average of 7.3 million viewers.
The original airing of the show and encore showings were watched by a total of 6.4 million viewers combined.
This season finale was emotional and featured the death of a major member in the cast that had been on the show from the very beginning. This now sets up the show to really examine it's main character, Jax Teller, played by Charlie Hunnam, and see how he can handle this emotional loss.
Sons of Anarchy will return for its seventh and final season in the fall of 2014, reported E! Online.
