'Terminator' film reboot casts 'Game of Thrones' star Emilia Clarke

By Kyle Johnson,

Game of Thrones' Mother of Dragons Emilia Clarke has been cast in the recently announced Terminator film reboot as Sarah Connor.

Clarke takes over a role that was previously played in the first two films by Linda Hamilton, notes HitFix. She joins the recently cast Jason Clarke who will be playing her son John Connor and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who will appear in the film.

Alan Taylor has been selected to helm the reboot, which is based off a script by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier. Plot details are scarce, though it will likely deal with time travel (especially as Jason Clarke is much older than Emilia) and will somehow go together with the recently announced show.

The show was announced last week. The TV show is being written and executive produced by Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller, who worked together for X-Men: First Class.

The show's plot us supposedly going to involve the tying together of the original films with the new series. The show is also said to be much different than Fox's The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

The film reboot is scheduled for theatrical release on June 16, 2015.
