Actress and entertainer Teyana Taylor has been dropped by Adidas, possibly because of a recent Twitter feud with Rihanna.
The brand released her after she got into a Twitter feud with Rihanna, in which Taylor re-posted the infamous 2009 picture of Rihanna’s battered and bruised face, bringing up memories of Chris Brown's 2009 assault.
Adidas, which is home to many celebrity sneaker lines from Jesse Owens, Derrick Rose, and newly-signed Kanye West, claims that Taylor showed support for domestic violence when she re-posted the picture of Rihanna’s bruised face during the Twitter altercation.
According to the International Business Times , a senior PR manager from Adidas released an email confirming they will no longer continue launches with Teyana Taylor. “We evaluate our relationships with partners based on the values we hold at Adidas and we don’t condone violence of any kind," the statement read.
According to Hot New Hip Hop, Taylor's rep initially said that the sneaker deal was only on hold.
Taylor signed a deal with Adidas in February that enabled her to launch the Original Harlem Good Luck Charm Adidas, which received support from her fans, notes Vibe. It even broke an Adidas sales record, reports Singers Room. Fans were left disappointed this past Black Friday when the shoe that was due for release did not hit the shelves.
The hip and slim Taylor did not personally address the allegations other than a tweet that read, “Hey haters’ imma let ya’ll finish but I had the fastest selling Adidas of all time.”
