Jack Selby, the mask behind the Twitter handle “Tips for Jesus” has finally been revealed by a New York City waiter. Selby is the former PayPal vice president and apparently enjoying spreading his wealth to any waiter that serves him and his friends.
According to Yahoo News, Aruj Dhawan, a waiter at Bo's Kitchen, received a $1,000 tip on a $111.05 bill from Selby and two other guests. "As I was about to drop the check off, one of the men said they would ‘make my night.’ They called me over, gave me the check. I was amazed ... I was just really thankful.”
Selby runs not only a Twitter account but also an Instagram page, where he posts photos of the check as well as the workers whom he tips. When asked by the restaurant manager Benjamin Cramer, 25, why he tips so much, Selby responded “Just because. We tip a hundred times the bill,” according to the New York Post.
Selby made most of his fortune after PayPal sold to eBay and is now the Managing Director for private investment firms Grandmaster Capital Management and Clarium Capital Management.
