Toby Keith has angered gun rights supporters with his policy on not permitting any guns at his Woodbridge, Va. restaurant.
A sign hangs on the front door that reads "NO GUNS PERMITTED” although Virginia is a gun-friendly state, meaning patrons are legally allowed to bring a weapon into a bar or restaurant if it is visible. Business owners are permitted to set their own rules, though.
According to Fox News, patrons have taken to social media to voice their opinions on the matter, with one writing on Facebook "It's a private business and [the business] has the right to set the rules that it wants."
Others are less supportive, with one customer writing "anyone leaving your establishment is likely completely defenseless and easy pickin's for a robbery.” Another wrote, "That sign on the door means that I will never try your restaurant ... It is a cultural thing among we Americans ... It is the fact that you seek to restrict a Constitutional Right that bothers the public. This is what will cost you," AceShowBiz reports.
Although Virginia does permit the carrying of concealed weapons, they do not allow drinking while carrying a concealed weapon.
