Christmas carols you need to listen to this season

10. "We Three Kings of Orient Are"

This song is about the wise men that traveled to see Jesus. It was written and arranged by John Henry Hopkins, an ordained deacon in the Episcopal Church, in circa 1857. While the Bible never calls the magi kings, the song still talks about the magi and how they followed the north star to find Jesus.

There is a verse for each wise man. It explains why each of them brought the gift that they chose. The most magical line of the song comes from when the wise man is explaining why he brought a baby gold. It says, “King forever, ceasing never/ Over us all to reign,” which is the root of some religions and the true meaning of Christmas.
