Trailer Park - 12/20 Edition: ‘Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues’ hopes to rake in the viewers

By Michelle Vaccaro,

It’s been an interesting week at the box office. In the latest releases, dinosaurs come at you in 3D, a computer becomes the object of a man’s affection and cops go wild. Plus, the Channel 4 news team is back in action and bringing on the laughs.

It’s a new decade and a new station for Ron Burgundy and his news team in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. In the PG-13 film, the popular San Diego news anchor and his cohorts head across the country for New York to join the first 24-hour news network. Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Kristen Wiig, James Marsden, Harrison Ford, Greg Kinnear, Vince Vaughn, Luke Wilson and Nicole Kidman star in the one hour and fifty-nine minute comedy.

Experience what it was like when dinosaurs roamed the earth with Walking with Dinosaurs. This PG film proves that size doesn’t matter. A small dinosaur is able to overcome the odds and lead his herd on a journey for survival. The CG animated family film features the voices of John Leguizamo and Justin Long. The one hour and twenty-seven minute adventure is available in 2D and 3D.

Technology becomes too real in Her. In the limited released drama, a writer goes into a depression following his breakup with his longtime girlfriend. He purchases a new computer with an intuitive operating system and begins to fall for the “woman” behind it. Spike Jonze wrote and directed the film starring Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, Rooney Mara, Olivia Wilde and Scarlett Johansson. The one hour and fifty-nine minute romantic drama is rated R for sex, language and nudity.

When the crime rate is down, the cops go out to play in Wrong Cops. The police officers’ debauchery disrupts citizens and causes an innocent man to be shot in this unrated comedy. The film is playing in limited theaters for one hour and thirty-four minutes.

Children can enjoy this week’s 3D film Walking with Dinosaurs, but next week’s 3D film, 47 Ronin, is more for adults. The other big movies hitting theaters just in time for Christmas are Grudge Match, Justin Bieber’s Believe, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and The Wolf of Wall Street.
