This week, Kanye West scores a deal with Adidas, Mac Miller announces the release of his second album this year and Childish Gambino gives his fans a look into his upcoming LP.
For the past few weeks, it seemed like West couldn’t stay out of the headlines. While much of the attention he has received lately hasn't been good, West still managed to prove himself by securing a partnership with Adidas. According to MTV News, Adidas released a statement confirming their collaboration with Kanye West.
"For 2014, we welcome to the adidas family one of the most influential cultural icons of this generation, Kanye West," the company said. "Well known for breaking boundaries across music, film and design and partnering with our history in street wear culture and leading innovations in sport, we look forward to creating a new chapter. Details to follow."
Only six months after Mac Miller released his sophomore album, the Pittsburgh rapper announced his plans to release a second record on Dec. 17. Complex reports that the new album will be titled Live From Space and will feature live versions of songs from Miller’s sophomore album, Watching Movies With The Sound Off, plus five unreleased songs. The album will be performed with The Internet who joined Mac Miller on his “The Space Migration” tour.
Meanwhile hip-hop lovers await the release of Childish Gambino’s newest album, Because The Internet. This week the rapper/actor treats his fans to a trailer and a track from the much anticipated LP.
The 19-track album will feature collaborations from Azealia Banks, Jhene Aiko, Chance Da Rapper and Problem.
While that sounds like a long album, it seems to have earned a favorable response among fans who say that Childish Gambino’s skill continues to improve with each new release. Instead of waiting until Dec. 10 to hear the album, you can stream it from iTunes.
