2014 Golden Globe winners full list: 'American Hustle,' 'Breaking Bad' and 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' win the night

By Daniel S Levine,

The 2014 awards season opened up with plenty of surprises at the Beverly Hilton last night, with Amy Poehler and Tina Fey presiding over an entertaining Golden Globe Awards. The 71st annual Golden Globes will go down as history as one of the more charitable awards, as few TV shows and movies took home more than one award. American Hustle lead the movie categories with three wins, while AMC’s Breaking Bad and Fox’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine each won two. HBO’s Behind the Candelabra and Dallas Buyers Club also won two.

You can check out the nominees here and here’s our home for full Golden Globes coverage.

Among the big surprises was that 12 Years A Slave only won a single award last night, just for Best Picture - Drama. On the TV side, it was shocking to see Andy Samberg and Brooklyn Nine-Nine win two awards, since the show only started this fall. Poehler also won an award herself for Parks and Recreation. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association also said goodbye to Breaking Bad, finally giving Bryan Cranston a Golden Globe.
