Creators of Broad City are packing their bags and taking their comedic talents across the country.
Best known for their web series, Broad City, Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer are beginning a tour this March. The duo's tour is going to have 18 stops and will conclude in Brooklyn in April, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Amy Poehler serves as the executive producer of Broad City. It is the story of young people living in New York City. The show premiered on Jan. 22 on Comedy Central.
Poehler told Variety before the show’s debut on television, “I’m excited to work with Comedy Central and introduce Abbie and Ilana to America. And all the other countries. And also Mars. We’ve got big plans.”
Poehler, 3 Arts’ Dave Becky and Generate’s Samantha Saifer all served as executive producers on Broad City, along with Tony Hernandez as co-executive producer.
This isn’t the first time that Comedy Central has embraced a television series featuring artists whose work has been seen on the web. Comedy Central also picked up the creative team from Workaholics.
Broad City airs on Wednesdays on Comedy Central.
