ABC announced that the reality competition series, Wipeout, has been renewed for a seventh season.
In Wipeout, contestants make their way through an obstacle course to win a cash prize. Competition for the Ultimate Wipeout Champion is expected to be heated as previous winners will return for a Tournament of Champions.
"We are always looking for ways to keep the show fresh and exciting," Matt Kunitz, creator and executive producer, said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. "This year, we are amping up the competition with a season-long tournament of champions, with the winner from each episode returning to compete against the other winners in an epic battle for the title of Wipeout Champion."
The first season of the show was in 2008. In the past, twelve family teams battled it out for a $50,000 prize.
The seventh season of Wipeout will be hosted by John Anderson and John Henson. It is co-hosted by Jill Wagner from the MTV show Teen Wolf.
Wipeout is produced by Endemol USA, notes Variety.
