ABC announced on Friday at the Television Critics Association press tour that a new Pixar animated special would be released during the holidays.
The new special will continue the Toy Story characters' adventures, this one is called Toy Story That Time Forgot, Variety reported.
The story will focus around an after Christmas play date for the Toy Story gang when a group of action figures turns on them. The action figures turn out to be "dangerously delusional," according to Hit Fix.
The Christmas special will star the original Toy Story cast including Tom Hanks, Don Rickles, Tim Allen and Wallace Shawn. Joan Cusack will also be back as the voice of Jesse.
For the upcoming Christmas special, Galyn Susman will be producing and Steve Purcell will be directing.
ABC had a previous hit when the network aired, Toy Story OF TERROR! The Halloween special attracted over 10.5 million viewers.
Toy Story 3 was one of the highest grossing animated films of all time and received an almost perfect score on the movie review site, Rotten Tomatoes.
