Celebrity Birthdays, January 12: Zayn Malik, Howard Stern, Rob Zombie

One Direction's Zayn Malik, radio and television personality Howard Stern, and singer and director Rob Zombie are celebrating their birthdays today.

Zayn Malik, 21

Singer Zayn Malik turns 21 today. Malik auditioned for X Factor as a solo act, but wasn't selected. He was later added to the group One Direction, created by Simon Cowell, and eventually ended the season in Third place. Despite their loss, the group became internationally successful. Over the years, the group has won numerous awards including MTV Video Music Awards, Billboard Music and Touring Awards, and Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.
As of August 2013, Malik is engaged to Perrie Edwards, a singer from the group Little Mix.

Howard Stern, 60

American radio personality, television show host, author, actor, and photographer Howard Stern turns 60 today. Stern, known for his controversial style, Shot to fame with his outspoken personality. Stern wrote two books, Miss America, and Private Parts, made into a feature film which he also starred in. Stern currently has a radio show on the popular paid radio network Sirius Satellite Radio. Stern has served as a judge on America's Got Talent since 2012. Stern has also taken on photography, and had spreads in both Hamptons and WHIRL Magazines, as well as photographs for the North Shore Animal League America, a no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization.
Stern married model and television show host, Beth Ostrosky in 2007. He tied with Simon Cowell for fist on Forbes' List of American highest-paid television personalities.

Rob Zombie, 49

Singer and director Rob Zombie turns 49 today. In his youth, Zombie played in the New York metal scene. He rose to fame as a vocalist for the popular metal group White Zombie, who received mainstream success in the 1980s and 1990s. After the band went their separate ways, Zombie went on to do solo work. He released five studio albums which included Hellbilly Delux in 1998, The Sinister Urge in 2001, and most recently, Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor in April 2013.
Zombie shifted to directing, specializing in the horror genre. His top films include Haloween, Halloween II, The Devil's Rejects, and the cult classic House of 1000 Corpses. Zombie married actress and fashion designer, Sheri Moon, who also appeared in many of his films.
