Chicago rapper Young QC and two of his friends were charged in the September 2012 arranged murder of his mother, Yolanda Holmes.

Yolanda Holmes, the owner of a successful beauty salon in Uptown Chicago was killed in her home due to multiple stab wounds and a shot to the head. Her sudden death shocked the whole community and citizens found it hard to believe that someone would want to harm such a beloved woman, until police researched her son's social media pages where he posted pictures of him flaunting money.

In addition, it was discovered that immediately after his mother's passing, Wilson, who was his mother's only child, had liquidated all of the money out of her banks accounts which, according to Memphis Rap, were worth around $90,000.

The Chicago Tribune reports that the rapper, born Qawmane Wilson, wanted his mother out of the way so he could have easy access to the money in her bank accounts and two life insurance policies. In order to get what he wanted, he hired two of his friends to help him stage a home invasion and kill his mother.

On Dec. 22, 2013, Wilson was arrested and charged with murder and home invasion. His friends, Eugene Spencer, charged with first degree murder, home invasion, and aggravated discharge of a firearm, and Loriana Johnson, charged with murder and home invasion, were arrested soon after.

Wilson is currently being held without bail.
