Winning five Grammy awards wasn’t all that Daft Punk fans were talking about last night. The rare performance from the duo at last night’s 56th Grammy Awards also featured some new outfits.
During their “Get Lucky” mash-up performance with Pharrell Williams and Stevie Wonder, Daft Punk appeared in some futuristic and almost angelic-like clean white suits with matching shiny white robot helmets.
Yahoo music> answered some questions regarding Daft Punk’s new look for the show and claimed that this was the first time ever that the duo changed up their original helmet look.
Not only were the duo’s crisp new outfits appealing to look at, but it definitely supported their persona of a futuristic fantasy world brought to life.
A couple of days before the Grammys, fans predicted that the duo was going to rock some sort of new look. Some people even compared the new design to Star Wars. Billboard> compared the helmets to the famous stormtrooper helmets from the Empire Strikes Back.
Although the helmets were definitely reminiscent of the stormtrooper look with the shiny white and black, Daft Punk’s helmets were definitely all their own and completely original.
One can only hope that the world’s future will look like how Daft Punk was dressed at this year’s Grammys.
