Daily Wrap of All Things for Jan 22: Bill Gates, Super Bowl and Arnold Schwarzenegger

By Samantha Ravenscroft,

Here’s our daily wrap for Wednesday, Jan. 22:

Bill Gates stated in his annual letter that he predicts there will be no more poor countries by 2035. He also used his 16-page letter to debunk some common myths concerning poverty: that foreign aid doesn’t help; that helping people will cause overpopulation; and that poor countries will stay poor.

Super Bowl XLVIII has announced their national anthem singer and for the first time it is an opera singer. Soprano Renee Fleming will sing the national anthem at the February 2nd game. This will not be Fleming’s first sporting event; she has also sung the national anthem at the World Series game and performed at the Olympics.

Arnold Schwarzenegger surprised many Venice location Gold’s Gym members when he pranked them while wearing a wig and mustache. The former governor posted a video Tuesday which shows him offering advice to members on body building and health. The prank was to promote awareness for an after school program which you can donate to through OMaze.com and also enter for a chance to win a chance to hang out with the former governor.
