Daily Wrap of All Things for Jan 28: Pete Seeger, Queen Latifah and Google Glass

By Samantha Ravenscroft,

Here’s our daily wrap for Tuesday Jan 28th:

Folk singer Pete Seeger passed away at the age of 94 on Monday. Seeger’s songs were used for Civil Rights protests and some of his better known songs were “If I Had A Hammer” and “Turn, Turn, Turn!” Seeger’s grandson Kitama Cahill-Jackson, confirmed his death on Tuesday saying, “I think he was a role model to his family, to the whole world.”

Queen Latifah is scheduled to sing “America the Beautiful” during pregame coverage of the Super Bowl. She performed the song before four years ago at Super Bowl XLIV. Also performing at the Super Bowl will be Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers during halftime. Renee Fleming will be singing the national anthem.

Google Glass will soon be available in prescription lenses. The Internet search engine made a deal with VSP, an optical health insurance provider, to help make the technology affordable.
