Controversy lightning rod Dennis Rodman checked into rehab for alcoholism on Wednesday after returning from his North Korean basketball trip.
Sources have told TMZ that the former NBA star is "beyond exhausted and overwhelmed." He will undergo a 30-day treatment while in rehab.
It's no surprise that the 52-year-old has checked into rehab for alcohol as he claimed that his actions in a CNN interview while in North Korea were a result of his drinking.
Rodman is no stranger to rehab as he has been there several times before. He entered rehab in 2008 and then a year later was filmed for Celebrity Rehab's third season. That stint didn't take either as he relapsed while the show was still airing his episodes.
In the CNN interview, Rodman had made it sound like the imprisoned American citizen Kenneth Bae was at fault, appearing like he was siding with the country instead.
The former basketball player later apologized, but Bae's sister, Terri Chung, was worried that his comments and actions would hurt the chances that Bae would ever be released from North Korea.
