Google revealed the most searched diets of 2013. The Paleo Diet and the Juice Cleanse Diet were the most searched diets last year, but will they continue to be popular in the new year?
A survey was released of more than 500 dietitians who say that gluten-free diets are here to stay for 2014, according to Hindustan Times. The Paleo Diet falls into the gluten free category.
The Paleo Diet was created by William R. Davis who calls wheat “toxic” and says that it makes people want to eat more junk food. People are looking at diets similar to this to help them along with losing weight and being healthy in the new year.
The New York Daily News reports that there are other trending diets that will continue into the new year. Dietitians foresee an increase in the consumption of ancient grains, like quinoa, and an increase of kale, coconut oil, and chia seeds.
Sixty-six percent of the dietitians surveyed say that the interest in health and nutrition will grow in 2014. Consumers will also be looking to buy locally grown products.
Still, the survey found that most Americans are remaining stubborn when it comes to their body weight, especially when it is unhealthy.
