Broadway veteran Glenn Close has been confirmed to join the cast of an unknown show this coming fall. The award-winning actress, who has not been seen on the stage in some time now, revealed her excitement in the new endeavor.
According to Broadway.com, this will be the first time that Close will return to the Broadway stage in about 17 years. Close previously told the site that she might return to the stage. She will now be entertaining audiences who hope to see her in a different way.
Close confirmed that she plans to return in a play rather than a musical even though her success with musicals is well known. Close told The Associated Press, “The world that it is in is a world I know very well. It’s just a very complex play. It’s very challenging. It’s like somebody said, ‘A mountain of a play.’ I’m not coming back in a musical.”
Close was in a number of Broadway shows including Sunset Boulevard, Death and the Maiden, and The Real Thing. The three-time Tony Award winner has also appeared in a myriad of films like Fatal Attractions, Dangerous Liaisons. She also starred on the series Damages. She is in Sundance to promote the film Low Down.
