HBO plans to collaborate with UK electronic music star Calvin Harris in creating its latest pilot, titled Higher, a half-hour comedy series set in the world of electronic music.

Deadline reports Irvine Welsh, of Trainspotting fame, is attached to write the script. The project also has big names attached as executive producers, including Will Smith and Jay Z, among others.

According to Variety, there is no word on the plot of Higher, which was written by Welsh and developed by Harris.

Harris is a Grammy award winning songwriter and producer best known for songs like "Feel So Close" and "We Found Love." Harris and his managing company, Three Six Zero Group, are making a move to expand their talents to the small screen for the project.

Other producers include: Jada Pinkett Smith, James Lassiter, Tyran Smith, Miguel Melendez, Mark Gillespie and Dean Wilson. This expands the relationship of Smith and Jay Z who are both producing the upcoming feature musical Annie.

The project comes from Overbrook Entertainment, Three Six Zero Group and Marcy Media.
