The stars of TLC’s popular reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo all received their own boo boos during a serious car accident in Georgia Monday night.
News of the accident was first reported by TMZ, which noted that Honey Boo Boo, her mother June, Pumpkin and Jessica were all in the car at the time. Sugar Bear was driving the car when they were hit by a truck driver allegedly speeding, sources for TMZ said.
The family was sitting at a red light and started to turn left when the light turned green. The other driver came speeding on the opposite side of the street with his lights off and hit the family’s car.
They were taken to a local hospital, although Mama June told TMZ that they refused service from an ambulance, which wanted to take them to a hospital they didn’t approve of. Instead, their bodyguard drove them to a different hospital.
“Everyone is bumped and bruised,” a source told Entertainment Weekly. TLC did confirm to the site that the accident did happen.
Pumpkin told TMZ that she has chest bruises and that Boo Boo has a headache after her head hit a passenger window. Mama June suffered a back and neck sprain, while Sugar Bear has a contusion on his back.
Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’s third season starts on Jan. 16. The production team was not filming the family at the time of the accident.
