Janelle Monáe was a rising star in 2013 and already has her musical sights set on 2014 but before that happens Monáe has a special visit coming up to a famous street.
Monáe will be one of the guest stars on this season of Sesame Street. She was on set to film for the 45th season, which will start airing in September of 2014, Billboard reported.
The "We Are Young" singer spoke about how excited she was to be a role model and to help teach young students. "I'm here because I am teaching everybody on 'Sesame Street' the importance and the power of 'yet.' Never, ever, ever give up because there's so much power in 'yet,'" said Monáe.
Her song will tell the story of the power of persevering. The song will be relatable to children and adults alike that are watching the show.
Monáe was recently honored as the Rising Star at Billboard's 2013 Women in Music Awards ceremony this past month.
Additional celebrity guests for this season will include Ed Sheeran, One Direction and Macklemore, Star Pulse added.
