Lena Dunham is Vogue's Febrary cover girl, talks preferring Brooklyn over Los Angeles

By Gina DiFalco,

Lena Dunham is the cover girl for Vogue’s February 2014 issue, which was shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz. She appears in the new issue with her Girls co-star and onscreen boyfriend Adam Driver.

It was rumored as far back as October that Dunham, 27, would be appearing on the cover of Vogue when she was photographed with Anna Wintour, the magazine’s editor-in-chief at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund event at the end of the month. Wintour then attended the Girls premiere in New York City on Jan. 6.

Dunham appears on the cover in a close-up shot, wearing a white and red polka dot blouse, looking both glammed up and distressed. In another shot, she poses on Driver’s shoulders in the middle of a NYC street as passer-bys are going about their business, Us Weekly reports.

In real life, Dunham is dating fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff, who she lives with in Brooklyn.

“I’d been like, If I never date again in my whole life, I’ll be fine with it! I want to work and rescue rabbits and be a notable eccentric!” she explained. “I had a whole romantic idea about singledom, and then, of course, that’s the moment when you meet someone that you really care about.”

Although she spends a few weeks in Los Angeles every fall, she said of the city and attending parties there, “Every time I looked around, it would be like, Is that someone I know from camp? No, that’s Ashton Kutcher.

It was such a weird scene. I remember thinking, I don’t feel at home here, and no matter how long this is my job, I will never feel at home here. And if I do start to feel at home here”—her brow furrows—“someone should really worry about me.”
