Liam Payne goes on epic Twitter rant after tweeting support to 'Duck Dynasty' clan and getting backlash for it

By Gina DiFalco,

One Direction’s Liam Payne tweeted his support of the Duck Dynasty clan over the weekend, even directly tweeting to Willie Robertson.

In light of Phil Robertson’s recent controversy, Payne made it clear he was a huge supporter of the family. However, after he posted his support, he was automatically linked to the Robertson patriarch’s controversial remarks about homosexuality.

“Huge love to you/your family huge respect for your business prosperities and the family values you still all behold. big fan,” he first wrote, which he has taken down.

When media outlets started reporting he shared Robertson’s views, he went on a Twitter rant.

“Being a fan of someones show and the way they still hold a family together doesnt mean i am ok with all they say,” he wrote, adding, “Oh my god can someone literally not be a fan if a show without bring labeled WTf I bought dinner the other day it made a news story.”

He then shed some light on his position in the public eye, writing, “What I gotta do to please you b--tards I'm a 20 year old just living life as you did when u where twenty but in extraordinary circumstances.”

Despite all the craziness, Willie Robertson responded by writing "Thanks bro. Congrats to u boys as well. Y'all keep rockin, we'll keep quackin. Stay strong in this nutty world.”

Duck Dynasty's fifth season premiered last week. Despite being suspended for a brief time, Phil Robertson is back to filming along with his family.
