New Old Spice 'Momsong' commercial goes viral (Video)

The newest Old Spice commercial has gone viral, featuring mothers spying on their sons going on dates. The “Momsong” ad has garnered over 1 million hits and counting.

The ad implies that Old Spice is responsible for turning the mothers’ sons from boys into men. It features a handful of mothers, kind of creepily, spying on their sons’ dates and singing.

In the ad, the moms are hiding behind closets and even dragging on the back of their sons’ cars as they struggle with watching them grow up.

The commercial is part of the brand’s “Smellcome to Manhood" campaign, Los Angeles Times reports. The viral commercial was directed by Steve Ayson, who works for the ad agency Wieden + Kennedy and production company MJZ.

The “Momsong” commercial aired during the AFC wildcard game between San Diego Chargers and Cincinnati Bengals and it has gone viral in just a few days’ time.

Babble notes the description on the video states, “New Old Spice Re-Fresh Body Spray may cause boys to become men, girls to become girlfriends, and moms to become sad.”
