Nun births baby boy in Italy

By Raquel Luster,

Women birthing children is no big surprise in our history, but a nun giving birth is a new tale.

A 32-year-old nun gave birth to a baby boy on Tuesday at the S. Camillo De Lellis hospital in Rieti, central Italy, the ANSA.it reports. The nun was originally from El Salvador.

Most pregnancies are approximately nine months. Most women are fully aware of what is going on, in large part because of the various changes to their bodies that range from weight gain to pain.

What makes this birth so unique is that according to the Huffington Post, she told Italy's ANSA, "I did not know I was pregnant. I only felt a stomach pain."

The father behind the pregnancy has not yet been revealed, but the boy’s name is Francesco, or Francis in English.

This new addition to the covenant will have a lot of brothers and sisters to look after him growing up. Hopefully the world will get to watch as he matures into adulthood.
