Pirated copy of 'Walter Mitty' surfaces online with Ellen DeGeneres watermark

A leaked copy of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty was put online with the watermark of Ellen DeGeneres yesterday. Executive producers from the Ellen DeGeneres show is working on figuring out how the screener was leaked online.

Variety reported that a representative from 20th Century Fox did confirm that the watermark was genuine. DeGeneres was given a copy of the film before star and director Ben Stiller arrived on her talk show.

Producers went on to further comment and explain that they still had not proven if the copy in question was the screener that DeGeneres was given and that the investigation is on going. "We are doing everything we can to find out and to make sure it never happens again," said a representative from The Ellen DeGeneres show.

The leaked film was first reported by Andy Baio, former CTO of Kickstarter, who broke the news on his blog Waxy.

Secret Life of Walter Mitty is currently in theaters.
