New comedy Ride Along, starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube, is looking strong after bringing in over $1 million dollars at the box office following late night showings on Thursday.

Variety reported that the film made $1.060 million during its first night of release.

Ride Along has been predicted to open strong over the holiday weekend. Analysts predict the film will earn over $30 million.

Fox also had late night showings on Thursday for Devil's Due which made around $300,000.

The Hollywood Reporter added that it is already being predicted that Ride Along is expected to beat Paramount's Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit which stars Chris Pine.

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit is being estimated to earn around $20 million, and there is competition from last week's new film Lone Survivor which surprised the box office last weekend with its strong surge in ticket sales.

Oscar nominees, Gravity and 12 Years a Slave are also expected to enter into the box office numbers.
