Fans of the detective show, Sherlock, will be glad to see the show back. Season 3 of the PBS/ BBC show premieres this week.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show begins two years after Sherlock Holmes faked his own death. As Sherlock and Watson make discoveries about elements of crime scenes throughout the London area, they exchange witty phrases.

Holmes and Watson are no longer stuck in the past. Creators Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat have brought Cumberbatch’s Sherlock Holmes into the high speed, contemporary world. They now utilize Twitter and texting.

Sherlock stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock and Martin Freeman as Watson. Sherlock’s brother, Mycroft Holmes, is played by Mark Gatiss. For the Season 3 premiere, new additions to the cast include Amanda Abbington, according to Variety.

Benedict Cumberbatch, born and raised in London, has been playing the well-regarded sleuth since 2010. His credits include The Hobbit, August: Osage County and 12 Years a Slave, also adding his vocal talents to The Penguins of Madagascar.

Martin Freeman has appeared in The Hobbit, Svengali, and The World’s End.
