The Oakland, Calif. teen wanted for the alleged murder of his sister has turned himself in.
Last week, ABC News reported that the 14-year-old was being sought for the shooting death of his 17-year-old sister after the two had an argument over laundry.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Mario Tolliver, Jr., who was in hiding for almost a week, turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday.
Family members have told the media that an argument started when the teen believed his sister, Justice, bleached his clothing. The argument escalated and she was allegedly shot by her brother and died at the scene.
The family is shocked and in disbelief over the senseless tragedy.
"Why would he kill her over that?" the sibling’s cousin, Marianna Gaston asked. "Nothing makes sense. It doesn't add up."
Justice leaves behind a 3-year-old daughter. Mario also has a child, but the infant’s gender was not disclosed to the public.
Prosecutors have not yet announced how the teen will be charged.
