R.E.M. became a part of the music industry in 1980 and has been producing hits ever since. From “The Great Beyond” to “Man on the Moon,” R.E.M. is known for their unique musical harmonies and ability to experiment with instrumentals.

R.E.M. consists of Michael Stipe, guitarist Peter Buck, bassist Mike Mills, and drummer Bill Berry. The band released their first EP, Chronic Town, and ever since that point has been making music history. They have topped the rock charts, the pop charts and have sold out venues all over the world.

R.E.M. front man, Michael Stipe, is celebrating his 54th birthday today. A few fun facts about Stipe, he is close friends with Radiohead singer, Thom Yorke, and godfather to Frances Bean Cobain.
