Her biggest year was 2009, where she received another Golden Globe nomination for her role in the comedy The Proposal. That was three nominations and no wins, until the box office hit The Blind Side came along. It follows Oher's story, leading up to him becoming a first-round pick in the NFL by the Baltimore Ravens. Bullock received a Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Actress, a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role, a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award for Best Actress.
In 2013, Bullock starred opposite Melissa McCarthy in the most financially successful comedy of the year, The Heat. She is currently nominated for a Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Actress, a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor, a British Academy of Film and Television Arts Award for Best Actress, and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. The Golden Globe Awards will air on NBC, Jan. 12 at 8 p.m.
